COVID-19 update: Eastern health region reports 2 new cases, provincial total is now 241


Health officials have confirmed two new cases of COVID-19, both in the eastern health region.

Newfoundland and Labrador now has 241 cases.

By region, there are 226 cases at Eastern Health, eight at Central Health, six at Labrador-Grenfell and one at Western Health.

Six people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, including two in intensive care.

To date, 4,726 people have been tested in the province and 120 people have recovered.

Health officials remind the public to strictly adhere to all the provisions put in place over the holiday weekend. The RNC and the RCMP have also announced that they will be increasing patrols.

The province will not be doing its typical pandemic updates over the Easter weekend. These broadcasts will resume on Monday.
