The company recently started to limit the number of people in each store. Since then, Costco customers have had to queue to enter.

Beginning on Wednesday, first responders such as police, paramedics and firefighters in addition to health workers who are members can cut the line with proof of identity.

The changes have been posted on the Costco website. Other changes include earlier closing times and limiting the number of guests a member can bring to two.

Buyers flock to big box stores for necessities due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This has forced companies like Costco ((COST) and Target ((TGT) to add shorter hours so workers can restock, exclusive shopping hours for seniors and caps on the number of products people can buy. Kroger ((KR) and Walmart ((WMT) have also started testing one-way aisles to encourage physical distance.
