Piers Morgan criticized Kyle Walker for being a “reckless” hypocrite after the Manchester City star apologized for inviting two escorts to his apartment during the coronavirus lockout.

Walker appealed to his social media followers to stay at home during the health crisis and not visit relatives, but hours later he paid for two women to come to his home .

Louise McNamara, 21, said she left Walker’s apartment around 2 am Wednesday morning and said she was paid £ 2,200 in cash.

Walker was just the last footballer to ignore the lockdown rules and Good Morning Britain host Morgan hit defender and Scottish chief doctor Catherine Calderwood, who was recently forced to resign.

“Footballers are posting exciting messages across the country saying to stay inside, do nothing stupid, be a good citizen,” Morgan said on ITV.

“In one day, literally [Walker] hired two escorts to come home with his friend for a party. What could be more reckless than that?

“Like the chief doctor [in Scotland] it’s disgusting, incredibly selfish and reckless hypocrisy. “

Walker is now facing a £ 240,000 fine from City, which equates to around two weeks’ salary.

“I want to take this opportunity to apologize publicly for the choices I made last week,” the English international said in a statement.

“I understand that my position as a professional footballer carries the responsibility of being a model.

“As such, I want to apologize to my family, friends, football club, supporters and the public for abandoning them.

“There are heroes who are making a vital difference to society right now, and I wanted to help and recognize their incredible sacrifices and their rescue work over the past week.

“My actions are in direct contrast to what I should have done regarding the lock. “
