No Covid-19 patient died in hospitals in southern Essex on Saturday, according to the latest figures.
A total of 66 people died in hospitals in Southend and Basildon after contracting the virus.
At Basildon Hospital, 49 people died from the virus, while 17 died at Southend Hospital.
Elsewhere in Essex, 46 people died at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, while 15 died at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.
NHS England has revealed that an additional 555 people with Covid-19 have died in the past 24 hours across the country, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths in English hospitals to 4,494.
None of them were in hospitals in southern Essex.
The patients who lost their lives were between 33 and 103 years of age.
Of the total, 29 of the patients, ages 35 to 95, had no known underlying medical conditions.
According to the latest government figures, at 9 a.m. Sunday, 195,524 people were tested for the coronavirus, of which 47,806 were confirmed positive.
