It is not known if the victim had underlying health conditions and a coroner is investigating the hospital tragedy.
A source told The Sun: “Amid all the trauma observed in our hospital departments by our NHS heroes, this tragedy has completely trapped the staff.
“There is a huge sense of disbelief at the injustice of this devastating death.
“The hospital’s senior management was in tears. The only consolation is that the baby survived the mother’s death.
“It is very irregular and an investigation is underway to try to determine what is causing it.
“THE WORKERS WERE TEARS”
“The mother had a coronavirus and the disease has not yet been eliminated as the cause of her death.”
The death of Whittington Hospital in Archway, north London, left the woman’s family “devastated”.
Whittington Health NHS Trust said, “This case has been referred to the coroner for cause of death.”
