
Bolton experienced the largest day-to-day increase in the number of coronavirus cases, with an additional 18 people tested positive on April 2, Public Health England reported.
This figure is double the largest increase recorded on March 29, when nine cases were recorded.
There are now 69 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Bolton.
According to Public Health England, 4,244 new cases of coronavirus were registered in the UK on April 2, bringing the total number of cases in the UK to 33,718.
The number of coronavirus-related deaths in the UK increased by 569, bringing the new total to 2,921.
