Former WWE superstar and MMA competitor CM Punk was one of many wrestlers to speak to ESPN about Brock Lesnar before the Beast Marathon on ESPN this weekend. The Chicago Savior calls the current WWE champion a lover and expresses that Lesnar is as good a husband and dad as he is a conqueror.
I don’t want to ruin his image. I think he’s a darling. He’s a guy, when I got into MMA and quit wrestling, he texted me, “Hey, if you need help. I am still a guy who does nothing. It’s hard to open up and trust people in the wrestling world. But he was never more than a true lover. It was a pleasure to work with him. He’s just a great guy, I think. I think Brock has a big heart, and that’s something a lot of people don’t talk about. They will talk about the abnormal strength and the crazy athletic things he has done in his career, the achievements. But they don’t talk about the fact that he loves his wife, his kids, lives on a farm and just wants to be left alone.
All the fame and money and everything is really just a side effect of being successful in what he wants to do. And he does what he wants, when he wants. This is the beauty of Brock Lesnar.
Punk and Lesnar’s WWE rivalry resulted in a confrontation with SummerSlam 2013, a fight that has been touted as “The Best Against the Beast”. While Punk put in a good effort, interference from Paul Heyman and a series of F-5s gave Lesnar the win. Check out more comments on the WWE Champion here.
