LUBBOCK, Texas (PRESS RELEASE) – The following is a press release from the City of Lubbock:

The city of Lubbock confirmed three new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and one additional death at 4:00 pm on April 5, 2020. The total number of cases in Lubbock county is 154, and five deaths. However, 21 cases are now listed as recovered. *

The Lubbock City Health Department and other response agencies are being prepared and have used standard intervention plans designed to treat and resolve public health problems. The Department will continue to monitor individuals as directed by the CDC. The ministry’s disease surveillance team will continue to work diligently to ensure that the public remains at low risk for contracting COVID-19.

The City of Lubbock Health Department and our health care partners will continue to monitor COVID-19 in the Lubbock area to prepare for the possibility of more local cases. Please continue to follow appropriate hygiene recommendations and social distancing practices.
