CHRIS Tarrant left Good Morning Britain viewers in shock today with a wild conspiracy theory about the coronavirus pandemic.
Former host Who Wants To Be a Millionaire, 73, appeared in the show via a live link when he said the virus could not have been launched in a market in China.
Chris said: “I find it very difficult to accept that a man in China eating a bat has caused this global scale of chaos.
“I find it very hard to believe. I can’t understand this at all. “
Experts believe the virus was transferred from animals to humans at a wet market in Wuhan, China.
GMB viewers couldn’t believe Chris’ theory and quickly turned to Twitter to voice their opinions.
One of them wrote, “Chris Tarrant, first of all, with a conspiracy theory on #GMB -” I find it hard to believe it was all caused by a guy in China eating a bald- mouse “. “
A second said: “Chris Tarrant can hardly believe that a man in China eating a bat caused this global crisis. If you don’t understand things, you don’t have to comment. “
While a third added: ” Very scary moment at the start of the interview Chris Tarrant was about to explain his coronavirus conspiracy theory. ”
Speaking from his second home in Berkshire, Chris said he had a hard time locking himself up in the prison but said he was grateful that he was not trapped in a small apartment in London.
Twitter users have also said that Chris may have flouted government rules by escaping from his home in London to be locked out of his second home.
One of them wrote, “Hthe isolation of ow goes Chris Tarrant in your very big massive house .. oh I find it very difficult. ”
Another said, “Glad he ignored all the rules and went to his second home. No one was even bothered. “
The TV veteran was on GMB to talk about the new dramatic ITV quiz, which is based on the infamous 2001 episode of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire when contestant Charles Ingram cheated to earn £ 1 million in using an elaborate cough trick.
