Before the 2019-2020 NBA season was suspended indefinitely on March 11, the Atlanta Hawks goalkeeper Trae Young had an average of 29.6 points and 9.3 assists in 60 games.
He shot 43.7 percent of the field and just over 36 percent of the depth.
But as Fox Bay Skip of Fox Sports said on his “Undisputed” show on Monday morning:
“I don’t accept him as an NBA superstar. I love him as a ferryman. I don’t like him as a shooter … there is no way that Trae Young can ever get within five miles of Steph Curry as a shooter. ”
“I do not join Trae Young as an NBA superstar. I love him as a ferryman, I don’t like him as a shooter … There is no way that Trae Young can ever get within 8 km of Steph Curry. “- @RealSkipBayless pic.twitter.com/pLYQyDw2yj

So why did Bayless say that?
Because last week Young was guest on “The Big Podcast with Shaq” and had the following chat with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal:
Shaq: “How many years before you pass Steph Curry as the best marksman in the league? Get on the spot. Get in there, let’s go. “
Young: “(Laughs). I mean – Steph did crazy things, crazy numbers … “
Shaq: “Trae. Trae. Trae. Don’t give it to me politically correct. A year? Two years? “
Young: “Dude … I don’t know. I try to be the best at some point … “
Shaq: “Say it, Trae. Go on and say it Trae. “
Young: ” Very good. A year. “
Shaq: “Ohhhhhh. Okay. Here. “
Young: “I work too hard. “

Steph – at 43.5% of his depth for his career with 8.2 attempts per game – is the best shooter of all time.
It was very clear that Young did not want to answer the question and was stuck in a corner. So really, his comment is not at all controversial.
He just wanted to move on and replied that any fierce competitor would do it. The 21-year-old knows he has a long way to go to catch the NBA double MVP as a shooter.
