The lineup for the new Celebrity SAS series: Who Dares Wins has been announced – and includes 1Xtra presenter Yasmin Evans.

Channel 4 promises to be the “toughest test” in the lives of 12 twelve celebrities.

Among them are Joey Essex, former model Katie Price and YouTuber Jack Maynard.

The show successfully filmed on the isolated island of Raasay off the north-west coast of Scotland before the coronavirus restrictions came into effect.

Yasmin says the experience was “ridiculously painful, emotional, beautiful, scary, intense and rewarding” and changed his life.

“No easy options”

“If these celebrities show up with an ego, they won’t last 24 hours,” said the show’s chief instructor Ant Middleton.

“There are no shortcuts, there are no easy options. “

Also present are TV presenters Anthea Turner and Helen Skelton, Strendly star Brendan Cole, former footballer John Fashanu, actress Hollyoaks Nikki Sanderson, YouTuber Jack Maynard, Paralympic athlete Lauren Steadman, Rudimental DJ Locksmith and champion of Tony Bellew boxing.

Yasmin has announced that she is participating in her Instagram account.

SAS: Who Dares Wins tests the physical abilities of its competitors, but former competitor Mark Whistler says the show is as much a challenge for the mind as it is for the body.

Mark took part in the show’s last series and tells Radio 1 Newsbeat that the experience is “relentless.”

“It’s the combination of sleep deprivation and a calorie deficit that you don’t see when you watch the finished show,” he said.

“It is really starting to have an effect and an impact on the physical level. “

He says that even the fittest candidates will not be able to prepare for the mental challenge.

“You check mentally”

“You can be an Olympic athlete, but everything you did during your training is completely under your control,” adds Mark.

“You don’t get enough sleep, you don’t eat enough and you are used to controlling your own life.

“If your brain goes out for a second and you check mentally, that’s it, it becomes 100 times more difficult. “

He says he can’t wait to see how different the celebrity experience is from his.

Channel 4 has not announced the return of the show, but promises that it will arrive soon.
