Canadian Broadway star Nick Cordero loses leg due to coronavirus complication

Canadian Broadway star Nick Cordero is expected to lose his right leg due to complications from the coronavirus.

Rock of Ages star wife Amanda Kloots revealed via Instagram on Saturday that Cordero’s medical team decided to amputate her leg due to the clotting.

The 41-year-old Hamilton, Ontario native spent nearly 20 days in intensive care after being tested positive for COVID-19.

“We had tough news yesterday,” said Kloots in his latest video update. “We removed it from the blood thinners, but it was going to cause the right leg to clot again, so the right leg will be amputated today. “

The news came two days after Kloots suggested she was unsure if her husband would be able to walk again due to “blood circulation problems” in his leg.

The update came days after Cordero underwent emergency surgery when doctors found an infection in his lungs.

“He lost consciousness, lost his pulse, and they had to resuscitate him,” said Kloots on April 11. “It was very scary. They had a lot of trouble getting it back. “

She added later, “I was told that the fact that he had successfully completed the operation was a victory. We are winning all of the victories right now. “

A GoFundMe page has been launched to raise funds for Cordero’s medical bills.
