Brian Allen: Rams Center is the first known active player in the NFL to test positive for Covid-19

The Rams posted on Twitter that Allen “feels good, he’s healthy, and he’s on the road to recovery.”

Allen, 24, is the first active NFL player to publicly reveal his positive test for Covid-19.

Glazer said Allen told him he tested positive for the virus three weeks ago, and again earlier this week.

According to Glazer, Allen said that he had lost his sense of smell and taste and that he was even unable to smell the ammonia that smelled of salts. He also had flu-like symptoms. Glazer says that Allen is now symptomless.

Last month, New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton was the first NFL figure to publicly recognize a positive coronavirus test. It has since been cleared.

Allen, who was selected by the Rams in the fourth round (111th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft, has played two seasons in the NFL. He started 22 regular season games during his career, including nine in 2019. He played college football at Michigan State.
