Brampton Hospital employee dies from complications from coronavirus

A Brampton Civic Hospital worker died from complications from the coronavirus, according to a statement by the William Osler Health System.

“The health worker, a longtime environmental services associate at Osler’s Brampton Civic Hospital, was being treated in the intensive care unit at Brampton Civic Hospital,” the health organization said on Thursday.

“Our whole organization is devastated by this news, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family during these difficult times.”

The Peel region said the man, in his 50s, “probably got the virus in the community, not at work.”

On Thursday morning, the Ontario government announced that there are 5,759 cases of COVID-19 in the province. A total of 200 Ontario residents died and 2,305 cases were resolved.
