Mmore than 1,200 people died from complications from the coronavirus in the United States during the last day, John Hopkins University said this morning.

The Baltimore-based university, which keeps a running count of global coronavirus numbers, said there were at least 337,072 confirmed infections in the United States with 9,633 deaths.

Continent China On Sunday, 39 new cases of coronavirus were reported, all but one imported from overseas, compared to 30 reported the previous day, as the number of asymptomatic cases also increased.

The National Health Commission said in a statement on Monday that 78 new asymptomatic cases had been identified. Only one new death was recorded on April 5, according to the new data.

Mexico recorded 2,143 cases, an increase of 253 cases from the previous day, said the Ministry of Health.

The number of deaths related to the virus increased from 15 to 94.
