Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller and La La Anthony join Blake Shelton, Kevin Bacon, Neil Diamond and more to tell people to practice social distancing.
Hair getting long in quarantine? Blake Shelton feels your pain.
Luckily for the country star, 43, he had a haircut date scheduled for Monday, chaired by his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani – while being interviewed by Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show”.
As Shelton explained, it is important in quarantine to stay in a routine. And his routine that day while staying in Oklahoma with “a group of Stefanis” included both a haircut and a remote appearance in the late night show.
“This interview – I wanted to do it, but we actually have a schedule that we already planned for today and I don’t think we can postpone it any longer,” he told Fallon as Stefani, brandishing a hair clipper, entered the frame.
The 50-year-old singer-songwriter said she should help her boyfriend “grow his mule” by cutting off the sides of his hair while Fallon continued to ask them both questions.
Shelton shared with Fallon that he supports the charity MusiCares, which has created a relief fund to help members of the music industry affected by the coronavirus. He also thought about how the pandemic could affect his hosting concert on “The Voice”.
“The scary thing is that we will have to do” The Voice “in a way like this, because obviously the live shows will be coming here in a few weeks,” said Shelton. “Especially in Los Angeles, we will not be ready to have events again. So it’s going to be crazy. We are going to have to train (virtually). It’s just going to have to work that way. It’s going to be crazy. ”
During all this time, Stefani continued to work on his hair, trying at one point to cut a “J” and an “F” on the sides of his head for Fallon.
“How’s the mule?” Does the mule get long in the back? Shelton asked the host.
“Not long enough, man,” said Fallon. “You can get it longer. But it’s getting closer. “
Since announcing that he will be leaving his regular Tonight Show studio in mid-March due to coronavirus problems, Fallon has organized online week-long segments of The Tonight Show: At Home Edition online . Each episode highlights a celebrity and their favorite charity, which featured stars like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jennifer Garner and Taraji P. Henson, as well as charities such as Feeding America, Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS and Save the Children.
Fallon, who previously told USA TODAY about a day in his life in quarantine, said he was getting production help from his family: his wife, Nancy, is a camera operator while his eldest daughter, Winnie, 6 years old, draws panels in place of his usual graphics.
“I usually try to do it from a quiet room in my house, but I don’t think there is one,” he joked. “Maybe I’ll do the next bathroom interview with a lock on the door.” “
