Singer Crazy in Love, 38, appeared last night in Lady Gaga’s concert, One World: Together At Home, while talking about the deadly bug that swept the world.
She said that covid-19 was “killing blacks at an alarming rate” as she expressed thanks for the health workers and other essential workers who continued to work during the pandemic.
Speaking directly to the camera, Beyonce said, “To those in the food industry, delivery people, letter carriers and sanitation workers working to keep us safe in our homes, thank you for your selfless service.
“Black Americans disproportionately belong to those essential parts of the workforce who do not have the luxury of working from home.
“African-American communities as a whole have been severely affected by this crisis.
“Those with pre-existing conditions are at even higher risk.
“This virus is killing black people at an alarming rate here in America. “
Beyonce then shared the statistic that 57% of fatal coronavirus cases in her hometown of Houston, Texas are African Americans.
She continued, “Please protect yourself.
