Asus released its Chromebook Flip C436, a lightweight and premium laptop that it previewed at CES in January. As expected, the new 13-inch Flip has a magnesium alloy body similar to its predecessor, the C434, and it weighs only 2.58 pounds, according to Asus.
In addition to a 1080p touchscreen, the C436 has a 10th generation Intel Core processor, with up to 16 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD, with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. It has a fingerprint sensor, stylus holder and two USB-C ports, as well as a backlit keyboard and a battery that lasts 12 hours, according to specifications. That qualifies him for Intel’s Athena project (although Samsung’s Chromebook Galaxy, another Project Athena laptop, claimed eight hours of battery life, and our reviewer got just over four hours on a charge).
As we noted when previewing the C436, this latest model is just a slight upgrade from its predecessor, but last year’s C434 was The edgeThe best Chromebook you can buy in August.
The new C436 is available in two colors: “transparent silver” and an iridescent “white airgel”. The price starts at $ 799, and it’s available on the Asus and Amazon websites.
