Amazon piloting disinfectant fog on Staten Island

72 Inc told Reuters it was piloting the use of disinfectant fog from Tuesday at a warehouse in Staten Island, New York, days after protests at the construction site over health concerns during the pandemic coronavirus.

The world’s largest online retailer said it was testing the practice commonly used by airlines and hospitals to further clean facilities, as well as introducing temperature controls and masks for staff.

Last week, 15 workers from the New York warehouse, known internally as JFK8, demonstrated to demand the closure of the building following a case of coronavirus reported to staff. An additional demonstration took place on Monday.
