Air France must be a good Airbus customer – Minister of Finance

PARIS, April 29 (Reuters) – French government financial support for Air France expects the airline to continue buying planes from Airbus, Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said on Wednesday.

The government on Friday offered the airline a $ 7 billion ($ 7.6 billion) package of government-guaranteed bank loans and direct-to-state loans.

“If we support Air France – I will not hide it – Air France must continue to be a good customer for Airbus, which is also in difficulty,” “said Le Maire on LCI television.

He added that the government could also support Airbus “overwhelmingly if necessary”.
