Alberta Health Services reports that due to the COVID-19 outbreak at Manoir du Lac Continuing Care in McLennan, he has resumed daily operations at the facility.

AHS says 26 of 62 Manoir du Lac residents tested positive for COVID-19, while 11 of 70 facility staff also contracted the new coronavirus. Five residents died from the disease.

“AHS will act immediately to improve the fight against epidemics, as well as infection prevention and control measures, to respond to the site’s COVID-19 epidemic. “

In the daily update to COVID-19 on April 17, the Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, stated that the move was made because the appropriate level of care was not provided in the establishment.
