“A surprise to me” – former striker admits surprise at coach Aston Villa’s shocking decision

After a sincere image revealed a change behind the scenes at the club, former Aston Villa striker Darren Bent admitted he was surprised by the decision.

A photo revealed that former Villa icon Mile Jedinak had taken on a coaching role with the club.

After the departure of the director of the under-18 academy, Richard Beale, it now seems that Jedinak has intervened to help the young people of the club.

It’s something that attracted Bent.

“It’s surprising to me because I didn’t see it coming, I didn’t see Jedinak come back and become a coach,” Bent told Football Insider.

Mile Jedinak passes on his invaluable knowledge to the youth of Aston Villa in Bodymoor

“I don’t know why I didn’t see it – but I mean, listen, fair play. This is great for young children and I hope they can learn something from it. “

Jedinak was released by Dean Smith last summer but stayed around Bodymoor to keep him in shape.

The Aussie had hoped to find a new club but, after signing in 2016, he settled in Birmingham well with his wife Natalie and their four children.

He has now made the natural transition to training and is looking to pursue his football career on the sidelines – Villa giving him a path.
