5 Costco employees in Vaughan test positive for coronavirus

Five employees from a Costco facility in Vaughan tested positive for the coronavirus.

In a press release from York Region Public Health, which was published by the mayor of Vaughan, Maurizio Bevilacqua, on Twitter, five Costco employees, located on Highway 7 and Weston Road, tested positive.

Two of the positive cases are close contacts.

“York Region public health has been investigating the cases and contact tracing, and has followed close contacts to recommend self-isolation,” the statement said.

“Public health continues to work with Costco management to ensure that appropriate infection prevention and control measures are taken, including cleaning and disinfection.”

Health officials said two on-site inspections have been completed and a third is planned for this week.
