11 people tested positive for Bradford long-term care home virus


Ten residents and one staff member from the Bradford Valley long-term care community tested positive for COVID-19.

Sienna Senior Living, the company that runs the Bradford Center, learned on Friday that a resident and a staff member were positive for the virus.

On Monday, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit confirmed that nine other residents have since tested positive for COVID-19.

The ten residents are isolated in the facility and the staff member is at home.

In a press release, a representative of Sienna Senior Living wrote:

“The Bradford Valley team is doing a great job in managing the situation – they are highly trained in infection control practice and work closely with public health, who has confirmed that all appropriate precautions and guidelines are in place. “

Sienna Senior Living also described the additional safety precautions in place, including daily temperature checks for staff and residents, team members wearing surgical masks, and thorough and frequent cleaning of all surfaces.
