Face masks and cloth covers have become more and more part of everyday clothing since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend wearing a face cover when you’re in crowded public places. It is suggested as a voluntary health measure where social distancing is not possible, like the supermarket. With the shortage of N95 and surgical masks, fabric coverings are the second best option.

When shopping for masks, look for a cotton one with a filter bag – pleated ones can provide more layers. It should be wide enough to cover your nose and chin and should be snug enough to not create gaps. A tight fit will help prevent large particles from traveling through the air, such as sneezing.

Handmade amazon

While there aren’t a ton of options on Amazon Handmade at the time of writing, it’s still a source for finding face masks. You will need to read the description to make sure you get one that has multiple layers of cotton.

Many of these sellers are at full capacity and are working on orders that will take weeks, so it may take up to a month to receive your shipment.
